Camelback Mountain 4-22-2016
Cropped from the above image. Chuckawalla. We named this one Zorro….. We passed him on the way up, and the way down.
We missed you Zeke!!! We went much further up the mountain than 2 weeks ago. (10-20 feet anyway.) Scott and I had a blast. I took weights out of my pack, (lenses and extra water) and you carried an extra 5 pounds (dumb bell) just for the workout. I enjoyed the exercise and the views of the valley. The cold beverage afterwards was also mighty nice….. and always the company!
All images shot with the Canon 5D Mark II, EF 24-105 F4 L Lens.
Sarah Elizabeth Pattison 10/21/1936 – 2/6/2016 RIP
Sarah passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning. The 4 of visited Thursday night and I wanted pictures of us. Mom was mostly unresponsive but did tell her brother over the phone that she loved him. When my wife and I left, we both told mom that we loved her, and she opened her eyes and looked at us and said I love you too. These were her last words. My younger sister Janey was with her when she passed.
Pastor Greg Rolinger December 11, 1969- December 6, 2015
Last night Greg went home to be with our Lord. God embraced His servant in the most peaceful of ways possible. Greg fought the good fight, he finished his course and he certainly kept the faith (1 Timothy 4:7).
New Flooring October 2015 Project
Sooooo…. With a new floor coming, its a good time to paint the living room….
I took a few extra hours and plastic wrapped anything that could not be moved off the floor, or walls – thinking this would save on the cleaning time.
The jack hammer creates a ton of dust. The powder is very fine and floats in the air for days…….
If you look at the fan at the back door, you can see the white/gray dust covering the fan, and a circle of that dust on the screen door.
The tortoise Groovy had to come in and see what all of the noise was about ……
You can see the super fine dust on the plastic sealing off the bed rooms.
The demolition was done on a Saturday….. we created negative pressure by closing all windows and doors, and opening the back door, then taping the screen off, except for the big fan blowing air outside. Then mopped the concrete floor several times, then the next day, wiping down every exposed wall with a damp micro fiber cloth to get rid of the dust. Then a hepa filter for the ac for a week…..
Tile down …… you can see the pattern clearly ….. no grout yet. Laying the tile, cutting, mixing thinset, etc. creates almost as much dust as the demo.
Grouting the living room …….. (don’t ask!)
New baseboard going in ….
The project is finished, now for all of the things that did not get done for the last 3-1/2 weeks……
The rooms look and feel bigger and now that the work is done I’m starting to really enjoy the look of it.

Max
This is one of the last pictures of Max I took. He is just hanging out in my front yard, right by the door.
Max chilling on my back patio, watching me grill.
My Girls
My girls. I love all three of them. They are all missing and grieving Max in their own ways. Sheri Lynn and Jazmin have never lost a loved one, a family member who they spent time with every single day. It breaks my heart that they are going through so much pain and suffering. I know most of my neighbors and it pisses me off that one of them could be so cruel and heartless to kill our cat in our front yard.
Tribute to Max
I’ll post more pictures of Max later……. He was shot and killed in my front yard this morning….. My daughter discovered him lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to the animal hospital. 12 hours later he was gone. I know he was a cat….. but actually he was a rescue, and a part of my family. The police are investigating, and have an idea who did it. Maricopa County has harsh animal cruelty laws that include fines and jail time. Its a felony, not a misdemeanor .
This is Lucy, Max’s mother. She too is a rescue. She was a feral cat, and we trapped her and had her fixed. They clip one ear, so if you see the cat, you will know its been fixed. She had 1 liter of kittens in our backyard. My daughter took weeks to befriend her, and to tame her. Max and Lucy played together every single day. Its been 6 days since Max was killed, and she looks for him, and cry’s for him. Its all very sad.
